Directorate of Emergency Services (DES)

The Directorate of Emergency Services is composed of a Military Police Station and a Fire Prevention Office. We provide services to Schinnen and the whole tri-border community. The Fire Prevention Office is manned by a chief and 3 fire prevention inspectors. The Provost Marshal’s Office has Military Police Soldiers  that can perform a variety of missions to include general law enforcement, personal security details, investigations, liaison with host nation police, physical security support, and military working dog teams. The Provost Marshals Office also administers the Installation Access Control System (IACS). All Soldiers and DA Civilians arriving from CONUS must be enrolled in the IACS system to gain access to American installations in Europe.  While the USAG Schinnen Provost Marshal’s office is the only directorate on Schinnen that is open 24 hours, 365 days a year, IACS registration hours are shorter and are listed below. To dial DSN from CONUS, the prefix is 314. To dial from a CONUS commercial phone, dial 011-31-46-443 XXXX.
